Lakyn Campbell is a dynamic young leader, scholar, and community advocate from Parkersburg, West Virginia who proudly served as Miss West Virginia Teen USA 2023. During her reign, Lakyn represented the Mountain State on both the national stage and throughout communities across West Virginia with grace, intelligence, and heartfelt service. 

🎓 Academic & Leadership Excellence

Lakyn entered the Miss West Virginia Teen USA competition already distinguished for her scholastic achievements and leadership roles:

  • She graduated valedictorian of her high school class with an impressive 4.6 GPA

  • Lakyn continued her education at West Virginia University Honors College, where she pursued majors in journalism and political science, reflecting her deep interest in communication and civic engagement. 

  • She was elected Governor of American Legion Auxiliary West Virginia Rhododendron Girls State, underscoring her commitment to leadership development and public service. 

🌟 Pageant Journey & Representation

As Miss West Virginia Teen USA 2023, Lakyn represented West Virginia at the Miss Teen USA 2023 pageant — gaining invaluable experience on a national platform. Lakyn won the state title on her third attempt. Placing first runner-up her first year and fourth runner-up her second year.

🤝 Community Impact & Service

Lakyn’s service extended far beyond pageantry:

  • As a President’s Volunteer Service Award recipient, she consistently dedicated significant time to community service efforts. 

  • She championed literacy initiatives, organizing book drives in support of the West Virginia Children’s Home Society. 

  • Lakyn also led campaigns to combat period poverty, collecting feminine hygiene products to help students and community members in need. 

Her work exemplified the positive influence and leadership expected of a titleholder — rooted in empathy, education, and meaningful community engagement.

🎉 Continued Involvement & Recognition

After her year as Miss West Virginia Teen USA, Lakyn continued to stay active in community events and pageant-related opportunities. She held the title of West Virginia Black Walnut Festival Queen, representing the festival and placing Third Runner-Up at the West Virginia Association of Fairs & Festivals Pageant — competing against contestants from across the state. 

She also remains engaged on campus and in civic circles, blending her academic pursuits with leadership roles and public appearances.
