The winners of MISS WV USA® and MISS WV TEEN USA® will represent West Virginia at the national MISS USA® and MISS TEEN USA® competitions in Miami, Florida.
THE AREAS OF COMPETITION
An independent panel of judges evaluates each phase.
Scores are combined to determine semi-finalists, finalists, and ultimately, the new titleholder.
For MISS Division:
Interview – 33%
Swimsuit – 33%
Evening Gown – 33%
For TEEN Division:
Interview – 33%
Activewear – 33%

Notes: No talent competition • No prior experience is necessary
Preparation support provided • No swimsuit competition for teens.
FITNESS IN SWIMSUIT
An energetic, on-stage presentation in a one- or two-piece swimsuit of the contestant’s choice during Preliminary Competition. Finalists compete in a red swimsuit of their choice. Judges evaluate confidence, stage presence, physical fitness, and overall presentation, emphasizing preparation and composure.
PRELIMINARY COMPETITION
All contestants compete representing a weekend title. Each area of competition is weighted equally (1/3 each). The contestants with the highest overall scores advance to the Final Show as Semi-Finalists.

INTERVIEW
A four-minute, panel-style interview guided by the Personality Profile completed in advance. Contestants select their own interview attire. Judges evaluate confidence, personality, character, and communication skills, focusing on clarity of thought, authenticity, and presence.
EVENING GOWN
An elegant, formal stage presentation in a long gown of the contestant’s choice. Judges evaluate confidence, poise, elegance, and overall presentation, assessing how effectively each contestant commands the stage with sophistication and refined presence..

INTERVIEW - 1/3 of prelim score
A three minute, panel-style interview. Contestants select their own interview attire. Judges evaluate confidence, personality, character, and communication skills, with emphasis on authenticity, clarity, and composure.
FITNESS IN ACTIVEWEAR - 1/3 of prelim score
An energetic, on-stage presentation. Judges evaluate confidence, stage presence, fitness, and overall presentation, highlighting strength, preparation, and poise.
EVENING GOWN - 1/3 of prelim score
An elegant, formal stage presentation in a long gown of the contestant’s choice. Judges evaluate confidence, poise, elegance, and overall presentation.

Every contestant competes representing a Weekend Title (city, county, or festival name), proudly worn on your sash throughout pageant weekend.

You may choose to upgrade your Weekend Title to an Official Local USA Title and compete as a recognized titleholder.

FRIDAY, JUNE 12, 2026
Friday events are optional. Contestants may choose to pre-register for Pageant Weekend on Friday. The Official Welcome Party will take place Friday evening, and friends, family, and fans are encouraged to purchase tickets and join us for a fun evening of glamour and excitement.

SATURDAY, JUNE 13, 2026
Contestants participate in the Sash Ceremony, stage rehearsals, private interview with the judges, a pop-up photoshoot, record their personal introduction for the Final Show, and take part in the Presentation Show (Preliminary Competition).

SUNDAY, JUNE 13, 2026
After the Preliminary Competition, the Red Carpet Pre-Show Event takes place. Contestants then return to the stage for the Final Coronation Show, where the Semi-Finalists are announced, Finalists advance through on-stage competition, and MISS WEST VIRGINIA USA® and MISS WEST VIRGINIA TEEN USA® 2026 are crowned.
Am I Eligible to Compete?
Most are surprised to learn they do qualify to compete. Review the basic eligibility guidelines below.
MISS DIVISION (The Road to Miss USA®), You may be eligible if you:
• Were born during or before 2007
• Have never competed in a national MISS USA® or MISS UNIVERSE® pageant
Women who are single, married, divorced, widowed, or mothers are eligible
to compete in the Miss division.
TEEN DIVISION (The Road to Miss Teen USA®) - You may be eligible if you:
• Were born between 2007–2011 (inclusive)
• Are single, never married, and not a parent
• Have never competed in a national MISS TEEN USA® pageant.
Requirements for All Contestants - All applicants must:
• Be a U.S. citizen
• Be recognized legally and medically as female in the United States
• Meet the 90-day residency requirement in the state in which you are competing
Residency may include living in the state, fulltime employment, school attendance, or property ownership within the state. (P.O. Boxes do not qualify.)
Additional Guidelines
• Contestants may compete in no more than two (2) authorized state pageants during the 2026 competition year.
• There is no waiting period between state competitions, provided all residency requirements are met.

We provide guidance, sample sponsorship letters, and strategy suggestions to help you confidently approach local businesses, community leaders, and personal supporters. The earlier you register, the more time you have to secure sponsorship support.

Indiana does not have local prelim competitions to compete at MISS INDIANA USA® or MISS INDIANA TEEN USA®.
Every contestant receives a Weekend Title upon registration and competes directly at the state level. You may choose to upgrade to an Official Local USA Title, but it is completely optional.
